ESAB Completes Brand Transition to Exaton™ Name For Portfolio of Stainless, Nickel and Specialty Alloys

ESAB Welding & Cutting Products today announced that it has finalised the transition to the Exaton™ brand name for all welding filler metals involved with its 2018 acquisition of Sandvik Welding Consumables. Globally, all products now carry the Exaton name. For the EU, Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions, the new naming conventions are as follows:

For stainless products, the Sandvik name has been replaced with the Exaton followed by the EN-ISO classification of the product. For example, Sandvik 25.10.4.L is now Exaton 25.10.4.L. The nickel-based consumables previously sold under the Sanicro name have been renamed with “Exaton Ni” in front of the current Sanicro number. For example, ...

ESAB’S DUAL SHIELD® PRIME LOW-HYDROGEN FCAW WIRES FEATURE LASER-WELDED SEAMS TO COMBAT MOISTURE ABSORPTION

ESAB’s Dual Shield® Prime is a family of seamless, low-hydrogen (H4) non-copper-coated flux cored wires that combat moisture absorption in humid environments, delivering impact toughness down to -60 oC. Tests performed in accordance with AWS standards show an initial level of 2.17 ml of diffusible hydrogen per 100 g of deposited weld metal; after one week of exposure with a 90% RH at 30 oC, Dual Shield Prime demonstrated just 2.35 ml of diffusible hydrogen.

ESAB REDESIGNS PSF MIG/MAG TORCHES FOR ENHANCED INDUSTRIAL PERFORMANCE

The modernised PSF series of MIG/MAG welding torches from ESAB Welding & Cutting Products includes the new PSF 520W water-cooled torch. It features a 100% duty cycle rating at 500 A with both mixed gas and CO2, to take on demanding jobs with wires up to 1.6 mm in diameter.

The PSF 520W features a dual-circuit cooling system that brings cooling water all the way to the seat of the gas nozzle, as well as to the conductor tube. The torch stays cooler and more comfortable in high-heat and high arc-on time applications, such as pulsed MIG welding and using large diameter Flux-Cored wires.
