ACCESSORIES : THERMIC LANCES

THERMIC BORING
ALL MUREX PRODUCTS CONFORM TO THE RELEVANT LEGISLATION

This method is suited to cutting through reinforced concrete, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals, as well as for maintenance work on furnaces. It is efficient, simple and mobile, and only requires an oxygen supply to complete the process. The basic equipment consists of the lance holder (149429) and suitable packed lances. In addition a Saffire OR14 Regulator (151840) and high-pressure blue Oxygen hose 10mm bore (1262260), is required to be attached to the oxygen supply. Murex lances are 3m (10ft) long steel tube, packed with iron rods and are available in two sizes: 3/8" (122423) and ¾" (122424). These are screwed into a suitable lance adapter, which is then coupled to the end of the lance holder. The lances have a screw thread on both ends, and can be connected together using a standard gas barrel connection. Horizontal holes of 10ft or more can be bored, but the process is made easier if the borehole is inclined upwards by 5 to 10 deg to assist the flow of slag.
